14th Independence Anniversary Friendship Golf Tournament

This year, the Papua New Guinea Embassy, in close cooperation with the Japan Papua New Guinea Association as well as the Japan/Papua New Guinea Parliamentary League, held its 14th Independence Anniversary Friendship Golf Tournament on 10th September, preceeding Papua New Guinea’s Independence Day on 16th September 2016.

It was our honor again to organize this annual social event that aims to bring together families, friends and colleagues for a “day of fun”.

The days program began with a group photo by all participants including both players and non-players before the players took the field the whole day. After the Golf game, a reception was held for presentation of prizes.

The Embassy would like to thank everyone that participated includingespecially the prize sponsors of the tournament.

– Visa Counter is open from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 15:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (Except Japan & PNG National Holidays).

Travel Restrictions to Papua New Guinea due to coronavirus measures

As of 6th October 2022, there are no restrictions for International travel into Papua New Guinea.

Start of Digital Arrival Card for all travelers

Effective 1st Oct., 2025, PNG Government started Digital Arrival Card (DAC) for the entry into PNG, instead of paper arrival card. Please access the link below and register your information using your computer or smart phone, within 72 hours before the estimated arrival time.

The tablet for registration is available at arrival area at Port Moresby International Airport. In the transition period, paper arrival card is still available.

Start of The Green Fee on Foreign Passport Holder

Foreign Passport Holders are now requied to pay Climate Change Green Fee when departing PNG, 50 kina (or USD 12) in cash or by credit card.

Green Fee exempiton criteria is as follows:
PNG Passport Holders / Crew Members of a vessel or ship / Diplomats / Military Personnel / Children under 12 years / Transit passengers of less than 12 hours

By Train
  • Musashi Koyama St on Tokyu Meguro line (12 minutes on foot)
  • Fudoumae St on Tokyu Meguro line (15 minutes on foot)
By Bus
  • 1 minutes on foot from Iriyabashi Bus stop by taking Tokyu Bus No.72 leaving Gotanda for Ebisu/Shibuya
  • 7 minutes on foot from Motokeibamae bus stop leaving from Meguro Station
